Leave an AI Test Note You Can Resume

Turn a vague impression into a small test record with an observed result and one next check.

Audience and review notes

For: People comparing saved AI tools across several visits.

Check facts against original sources and remove sensitive information. Review AI output before relying on it.

Write For Your Next Visit

“Looks good, try again later” does not tell you what to repeat. Keep one small task, the requirement you checked, what actually happened and the next unresolved question. A useful note can be shorter than the generated answer.

In your shortlist, expand a saved tool’s Candidate evaluation. Start a test note adds an outline to an empty note only. It does not run a test, complete candidate checks or set a test date. Existing notes are kept.

Example: A Summary That Changed A Commitment

This is a fictional exercise, not a captured model run or a vendor benchmark. The approved sample says a preview is ready for internal review, but customer access has not been approved. An illustrative AI draft says customers can start using it next week.

An unhelpful note:

Nice writing, but needs work.

A useful short note:

Task: summarize three approved project notes in two sentences.
Expected: keep customer access explicitly unapproved; invent no dates.
Observed (or could not test): draft promised access next week.
Next check: rerun with missing-date instructions; compare every commitment.

That next check is small enough to resume. Keep the original input and output in an approved location; do not paste customer records or confidential material into a browser note. Record account settings or other conditions with that evidence when they matter.

Distinguish A Failure From A Blocked Test

If you cannot access a needed function, write what prevented the test rather than reporting an output failure:

Task: check whether the sample can be delivered in the required format.
Expected: open the result in our receiving application.
Observed (or could not test): could not test; access not confirmed.
Next check: verify our account's current official documentation before retrying.

Do not assume a feature was removed, buy a plan or grant extra permissions just to complete a checklist. A passing sample also does not establish general accuracy, security or suitability. Check more relevant cases before relying on the workflow.

Return To The Question, Not The Checkbox

On your next visit, read Next check before running a new task. When you actually retest, update the observed result and record the local test date separately. An outline or a completed checkbox is not evidence of a test.

Notes have a 600-character limit and live in this browser. If the note says Not saved, keep the tab open and copy it or download a shortlist backup before leaving. This is not cloud sync or a secure evidence archive. Use the browser-transfer guide before moving to another browser or clearing site data.

For a fuller before-and-after exercise, use Retest a Saved AI Tool After an Update. Before expanding a trial, try Check an AI Pilot Result Before Expanding to keep a decision within the evidence you actually collected.
